Buoyant has been digging deeper on our Climate Risk Intelligence work, developing a lens by which to understand the quickly expanding market landscape. While the lines between segments aren’t as clear as our market map suggests, the demand for solutions that quantify and price the risks of climate change, including both physical and transition risks, are quickly increasing. To Paris (or Pittsburgh) and Beyond

This week was a big step forward for climate. There has been a lot of talk leading up to this moment and we are now starting to see early actions from the Biden Administration.

At Buoyant we are using the WSJ’s live list of Biden’s nominations and appointments and their status. As we discussed during our Climate, Civics & Cocktails webinar, Biden is planning for climate action across a number of agencies, here is one of the better lists of what each agency can do.

The early actions we have seen were mostly predicted, with a few surprises:

On Trump’s last day in office a Federal Appeals Court unanimously voted against the Trump Administration’s Affordable Clean Energy rule (the replacement to the Obama era Clean Power Plan), providing the agency with more flexibility for future policies. Read More
